Pair production tomography imaging (P2T)

A high-energy X-ray beam introduces the electron-positron pair through pair production and produces two time-coincident 511 keV annihilation photons. A 3D reconstruction of the event locations forms the pair production tomography imaging (P2T).

P2T demonstrates distinct imaging properties compared with CT. It is also a promising surrogate for in-vivo dosimetry.
